Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has now claimed that he is still a big fan of two Chelsea players despite a tough campaign so far.
He told the ‘Obi One’ podcast that he believes both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are going to turn good if they are giving time together in the middle of the park.
Caicedo and Fernandez both joined the club for huge money, however their performances so far have not quite lived up to the expectation that comes with that price tag.
The duo were both present for the demoralising 2-0 defeat yesterday to Everton, where the pressure really began to rise on Mauricio Pochettino in charge.
Mikel has claimed though that the two midfielders do have the quality to come good if they are given enough time.
He said: “I think we expect more from them. I am a big fan of Caicedo but I keep saying I need to see him put in those performances that he did at Brighton.

Mikel praises Fernandez and Caicedo
“But when you look at it you are going to say, no disrespect to Brighton, but it’s a much smaller club where his performances are looked upon at that high standard.
“Now you look at a club like Chelsea where you demand way more than he did for Brighton. Can he go that step higher? I don’t know if he has that in him but I’m still a big fan of Caicedo.
“Fernandez also, Argentina had a great World Cup and he came to the club for £105 million. Two really good players, I think those two are going to be good. They need time.”
It is likely that the two still start next week when the Blues are back in action on Saturday against relegation-threatened Sheffield United.
